In 2016, after almost 14 years of service, I had to leave the Canadian armed forces following back and neck injuries sustained while practicing my profession as an aeronautical technician.

I joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1970. I spent the majority of my career with various Combat Arms units. In 2004, I retired as a Chief Warrant Officer.

I joined the Reserves as a Medic in Halifax in 1979. I liked it so much that I joined the Regular Force in 1980 as a Medic.
